Shake Shack to Start Construction on Third Austin Location

Shake Shack, the New York-based burger chain known for its Shackburgers, crinkle-cut fries and rich custard milkshakes, will soon start construction on its third Austin restaurant.

According to a Jan. 27 filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, the restaurant is slated for the EastVillage mixed-use development in North Austin, located at 3101 E. Yager Lane. Construction is expected to begin March 1, with an estimated completion date in August 2026.

The 3,419-square-foot restaurant will cost around $1.6 million to build, the filing said.

EastVillage announced Shake Shack as a future tenant in August 2025, but this week’s filing solidifies plans for the restaurant chain’s expansion.

The 425-acre development includes retail, dining and residential components aimed at creating a walkable atmosphere. Shake Shack will be joined at EastVillage by other food and retail tenants, including First Watch, Potbelly Sandwich Works, Kilwins, Flame Broiler and more.

Once complete, the new Shake Shack will join two other Austin restaurants, one located at 1100 S. Lamar Blvd. Suite 2100 and the other located at 11228 Domain Drive.
